Coverage & methodology
What the database covers.
Every number on this page is read live from the database: where investors are based, what kind of investors they are, and how each profile is built.
By headquarters region
How a profile is built
- 1Collect
Source data arrives as lists of contacts. The same organisation often appears several times, spelled differently.
- 2Match
Contacts are grouped into organisations by name, then by company email domain where the names also agree. Shared domains such as webmail are never used to merge.
- 3Classify
Investor type, sectors, themes, instruments and geographies are assigned from the source text. The original text is kept and shown on the profile.
- 4Convert
Ticket sizes and AUM are converted to US dollar ranges you can filter on. Years and percentages are never read as amounts.
- 5Score
Each organisation gets a 0 to 100 completeness score, shown on its profile and available as a filter.
Personal data
Contact records describe people in their professional role and are processed under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in connecting investors with the organisations that need capital. Anyone listed can opt out, and a removal request is applied across the database and the search index.
We do not sell contact lists to third parties, and contact details are shown one at a time within daily limits. Email verification checks deliverability without sending anything to the address, so nobody is emailed to test their inbox.
